Based on rumors by Industry experts, below are a few amazing features you can expect from the upcoming series:
- 2nm A20 chip
- Deep red colorCap
- Longer battery life
- C2 modem
- Smaller Dynamic Island
- Variable aperture camera
2nm A20 chip
So far, one of the biggest upgrades that the iPhone 18 could bring is the new A20 chip. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this chip is built on TSMC’s first-generation 2-nanometer manufacturing process. This new processor, together with a new packaging design, will allow the upcoming iPhone to deliver a solid performance. It also means improved energy efficiency and better battery life.
Deep Red Color
Furthermore, industry experts reveal that the iPhone 18 Pro models will come with a special color, which is deep red. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is testing the “deep red” finish for both devices. If this comes true, it’ll be the first time iPhone Pro models will come in red.
Some people even rumored that Apple is also considering purple and brown finishes. However, Gurman added that even these color options will come as “variants of the same red idea.”
Longer battery life
Reports also suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will come with a bigger battery. A known Weibo leaker, Digital Chat Station, said the smartphone will come with a next-level battery life of 5,100 to 5,200 mAh. When combined with the new A20 2nm chip, the iPhone will be able to deliver extremely impressive battery life.
C2 modem
Reports have it that Apple is looking to continue expanding its in-house technology. As such, Apple’s third-generation C2 modem is expected to be available in the iPhone 18 Pro models. As noted by MacRumors, this new offering will “support a privacy-focused Limit Precise Location setting.” This will help reduce the location data available to mobile networks. Of course, this will mean quicker and more efficient 5G connectivity.
Variable aperture camera
Another new feature that’ll iPhone 18 will have is a variable aperture camera; but what does this mean? According to reports, the upcoming Pro models will come with a main 48-megapixel Fusion camera, which will likely feature a variable aperture. As noted by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this offering will allow users to control the amount of light that goes through the camera’s lens to the sensor. This means users will have better control over DoF.
Smaller Dynamic Island
Rumors have it that the iPhone 18 Pro models will come with their Face ID flood illuminator positioned under the screen. As noted by the popular Weibo leaker, this new development will give room for a smaller Dynamic Island on the smartphones.
