Alabama police plead for tips in deadly birthday party shooting

Houston police responded to a report of an active shooter at a YES Prep Secondary school on the city’s southwest side, at least one suspect was apprehended.

Police are on the scene of an active shooter at a school in southwest Houston.

The Houston Police Department tweeted about the reported incident at 4400 Anderson Road and Hiram Clarke on Friday afternoon. The address directs you to the YES Prep Southwest Secondary campus.

The call was received at 11:45 a.m., according to police.

“There is one suspect in custody. Officers are searching the school for any other possible suspects at this time. Scene is still active. More information will be provided as it becomes available,” Houston police said.

The police department has set up a staging area for parents, located at West Fuqua and Hiram Clarke. Students will arrive at the specified location. They request that you not attend school.
