UPDATE: According to Dallas Police, a woman allegedly fired several gunshots into the air at Dallas Love Field Airport in Texas on Monday before being shot and taken into custody.
One person was taken to the hospital after an officer-involved shooting inside Dallas Love Field airport on Monday morning, WFAA reported.
Dallas police confirm a report of “shots fired at the Dallas Love Field Airport” and are currently investigating.
Dallas Police is on the scene at Dallas Love Field, according to police scanners, with the call listed as “Assist Officer.”
“PIO is en route to Dallas Love Field Airport in response to reports of shots being fired. Follow our Twitter for updates,” Dallas Police said in a tweet.
A brief police audio clip stated that officers were responding to an active shooter situation, but the shooter was “down.”
“A group of people were running and yelling “run” and we all immediately took cover. Nothing has been communicated to us. Everything seems to be calm now. It was most certainly a scary experience for all,” a witness said.

According to its website, Dallas Love Field Airport is about six miles northwest of downtown Dallas and primarily serves Southwest Airlines.
“Chief Garcia will brief media at 12:10 at the staging area. The terminal is secure at this time,” Dallas police said.
