Asus ZenFone 5Z owners report camera focus and blur issues

Asus ZenFone 5Z Camera Issues Blur Focus

Asus ZenFone 5Z smartphone, unveiled on 16 May 2018, is a higher-end Android device, manufactured by Asus. Going on retail sales on 6 August 2018, the device offered a lot of amazing features at that time. These include running on Android 8.0 out of the box and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. Talking of Asus, the OEM usually updates its devices on a regular basis. According to reports across social media platforms, many Asus ZenFone 5Z users are complaining about a camera issue on their devices. The users mentioned that the phone camera is unable to focus and only captures blur images.

Asus ZenFone 5Z Users Complain Of Camera Issues

Users of Asus Zenfone 5Z smartphones have taken to various social media platforms, including the Asus ZenTalk community and Twitter, to complain about an issue, where the camera is unable to focus and captures blur images.

Let’s have a quick look at one of the reports below:

According to @manmeetbhagat, the user reported that:

“Since last month I found my Main Camera is blur. It is not due to any software upgrade. I had checked all the latest firmware but still, the problem exists. I also downgraded my Phone to Pie, still, the problem was thereā€¦”

So far, looking at the reports on the Asus ZenTalk community, it seems like the camera issue, which started a few months back, is affecting several Asus Zenfone 5Z users running the different firmware versions on their device. The firmware includes the latest version 100.10.107.70_20200320 and older firmware, like 16.0615.1908.109.

Initially, when the camera issue started, Asus customer support was able to provide some generic troubleshooting for affected users. However, that didn’t help to fully fix the Asus Zenfone 5Z camera issue. Apart from that, Asus was also not able to address the issue on a large scale.

Any New Development Regarding The Camera Issue?

For now, Asus is yet to provide a permanent resolution for the issue, where the camera is unable to focus and captures blur images. While some users are still waiting for a fix from the OEM, it looks like there’s a new development for the issue. While responding to some of the complaints on the Asus ZenTalk community, a moderator advised affected users to visit the Asus repair center to repair their devices. Here’s what the moderator posted about the issue below:

“After investigation, we suggest you bring your phone to the ASUS repair center for device checking.”

In case your Asus Zenfone 5Z camera is also unable to focus and captures blur images, you might as well check here, as suggested by the moderator. Since the camera issue affects several users, we’re hopeful that the OEM will roll out a fix sooner than later to address the issue.
