US President Joe Biden admitted Thursday that he must do more to tackle high prices, after consumer inflation rose more than anticipated in December in a blow to his reelection messaging.

“The economy has created more than 14 million jobs since I took office, and wealth, wages, and employment are higher now than under my predecessor,” Biden said in a statement.

“But there is much more work to do to lower costs for American families and American workers.”
