As election day grows near, concerns regarding the election results are increasing. The citizens of the United States are nervous regarding the election result, and according to Trump’s tweet, many people are wondering “Can I change my vote?”. Donald Trump tweeted, “Strongly Trending (Google) since immediately after the second debate is CAN I CHANGE MY VOTE? This refers changing it to me. The answer in most states is YES. Go do it. Most important Election of your life!”

Can I change my vote?

This tweet was written after a hike in searches after the second presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. This assertion is also supported by lagging polls in favor of the Republican candidate, Joe Biden. Donald Trump’s tweet suggests that people who have already voted are doubting their choice after the second presidential debate.

According to reports, a record-breaking number of early votes have been cast in this election. Statistics note that 58 million people have already made their decision and cast their votes in their ballots. Trump also made similar tweets in the presidential election of 2016. During the presidential election of 2016, Trump encouraged US residents to change their vote in order to “make America great again.” His comments were directed at those who had voted for the then-Democratic candidate, Hilary Clinton.

Google has revealed that according to trends being monitored by its algorithm, searches for “can I change my vote after voting” have hiked by approximately 500 percent over the last day in the United States. Moreover, searches for “can I change my vote after mail in” have increased 140 percent in the same time period. Meanwhile, queries for “how can I change my vote” went up by 80 percent in the last day.

Some states allow citizens to revoke early votes

Google officials further noted that searches regarding “can I change my vote in Texas” and “can I change my vote in Florida” increased by 250 percent and 200 percent respectively in the last hour. People are inquiring about the voting mechanisms in their particular states.

In a number of states, the early votes cast can be changed before 3rd November – the election day. “In some states, you can submit your ballot, have a change of heart and, and submit a new ballot,” told Matthew Weil, director of the Election Project at the Bipartisan Policy Center to a news outlet. CNN has reported that New York, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Mississippi are among the few states which will grant voters a chance to alter their earlier votes.

One user tweeted, “Trump urges Americans to flip their ballots after can I change my vote?’ has a strong uptick on Google Trends from Oct. 11-17 when @nypost ran exposĂ© series about Joe/Hunter Biden’s business dealings, and surging after the debate.
