China said on Friday it was essential to enhance “extreme scenario thinking” as it remains engaged in a high-stakes trade war with the United States.

“It is essential to… enhance both bottom-line thinking and extreme scenario thinking, with a strong focus on preventing and defusing trade risks,” a statement from the commerce ministry said.
