FBI New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board

Friday morning, the FBI raided the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board office.

Agents were seen entering and exiting the St. Joseph offices.

Agents may be looking at records dating back 20 years, according to a witness on the scene.

The FBI confirmed the incident to WWL-TV in the following statement: “The FBI conducted law enforcement activity at 625 Saint Joseph Street, New Orleans, LA. There was no threat to public safety. As this is an ongoing matter, we are not in the position to comment further at this time.”

The S&WB also issued a statement in which they stated that they were cooperating with the FBI:

“Federal agents arrived this morning at our St. Joseph Street office to gain access to records kept within the Sewerage and Water Board’s Plumbing Department. SWBNO is in full cooperation but cannot make any further comments about the pending investigation.

The raid took place around 9:45 a.m.
