A powerful, ergonomic work laptop is a must-have for any office or self-employment employee. And if earlier, the choice of devices for small and medium businesses was limited to a certain range of ultrabooks based on the Intel platform, today the market is being conquered by more affordable, but no less productive models with energy-efficient hardware from AMD.

The device is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor, which has 8 cores and 16 threads with frequencies ranging from 1.8 GHz to 4.3 GHz. The Lenovo V14 is capable of handling the toughest workloads quickly and efficiently, and has already proven itself in a variety of models. At the same time, it is worth highlighting the high energy efficiency of the platform, thanks to which the laptop works longer without recharging.

How long can you work without a charge?

The laptop worked for about 7 hours with a standard load: running office applications, active video conferencing, Internet surfing and viewing presentations. Professional software like Photoshop drains the battery faster, but even than the battery life is over 5 hours.

Screen convenience

The portable computer is equipped with a 14-inch TN-matrix screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. It has a good reproduction of colors and light, while it is also framed by thin frames, which seems very modern. For those who are worried about their security, there is a shutter on the webcam that physically locks and does not allow secret video recording.

Visual design and workmanship

Notebook Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15 is made entirely from dark gray plastic, which most resembles a pencil mine. The lid and work surface are adorned with decorative (and practical) horizontal polish. Fingerprints remain on the surface of the laptop but are easily removable.

All ports are located on the left side of the respective laptop. This is a charging port, an RJ-45 network port, an HDMI video output, two USB 3.0, a combined audio jack and USB-C. On the right is one section, instead an optical scanner and more can be installed.

The cooling system is composed of a fan and a heater hose. Cold air is sucked through a small perforated area at the bottom of the laptop, and blown into the space between the display and the work panel.

How to choose a laptop for work?

To answer the question of which laptop to buy for work, it will not be superfluous to take into account the installed video card, which is responsible for performance. This is especially important when working with 3D graphics. If the work is not related to computer games, then you can buy models with a video card that was originally built into the processor.

An increasing number of modern notebooks for work are equipped with SSD, which is considered more reliable and helps to accelerate the launch of the system and various applications. At the same time, the minimum indicators of its volume are not expected to be below 256 GB. It is preferable to choose peripherals of 512GB or more.
