A fish is believed to have sparked a fire that knocked out power to over 1,500 people in Canada, NY Post reported.

According to Ashcroft Fire Rescue, an osprey flying near Ashcroft, British Columbia, around noon Friday dropped a fish from its beak onto power lines. The impact caused sparks that ignited dry grass below, spreading flames across nearly half a hectare.

In a Facebook post, the department shared photos—including one of the charred fish on scorched ground—and said embers from the impact ignited dry grass below.

Firefighters noted the blaze broke out roughly three kilometres from the nearest river, and investigators believe the bird may have dropped the fish due to its size and the intense heat.
