According to the latest rumor, the upcoming Fortnite chapter 2 Season 3 will likely include SpongeBob Squarepants. Although that might sound like a joke, it seems to confirm the previous rumor of a heavily water-based Fortnite season with flood and all.

Released back in 2017, Fortnite is one of the first battle royale franchises to be introduced by Epic Games. And it has since generated a lot of success for the company.
No doubt, we have heard a lot of rumors about the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3. Sometimes ago, we heard that the upcoming Fortnite season might be coming with summer-related themes and a map change, which could be submerged in the water. Now, there’s another leak on the internet, claiming that the fast-approaching season is going to include a SpongeBob Squarepants theme.
A new leak, which was posted on Twitter by @ShiinaBR, shows an image for the potential icon of season 3. According to the rumor of the upcoming Fortnite Season 3, the user claimed that the update was uploaded to the PlayStation store.
The image clearly pictured the battle bus flying low above the beautiful ocean landscape. Also, on the right side of the bus is another image of an island, with three palm trees. That’ll likely look familiar to many fans of SpongeBob.

“Apparently the Season 13 Icon got leaked in the PlayStation Store while I was asleep! The Underwater theme is now confirmed, just like all the other leaks related to it!”
If you ask me, I’ll say there’s no better way to introduce the SpongeBob Squarepants into Fortnite than in the season taking place under the sea.
Another Leak
Shortly after that, @ShiinaBR also tweeted another leak, claiming that Heroes VS Villains theme will again be reintroduced on Fortnite Season 3. Backing the rumor up, the Twitter user added a couple of images, claiming they are the leaked skins of the two teams.

Presently, there’s no official explanation as to how the latest update will affect gameplay mechanics. However, players believe that there’ll be a change in the map, to suit the upcoming season.
The upcoming season has been scheduled to roll out on June 11 – that’s about a week from now. We’ll only have to wait until then to confirm whether or not the rumors so far are true.
