BACKGROUND: Colonial Pipeline suffered a devastating cyberattack earlier this month, forcing the company to shut down approximately 5,500 miles of pipeline in the United States.

The Colonial Pipeline, which runs from Texas to New Jersey, supplies approximately 45 percent of the gasoline consumed on the East Coast. The shutdown caused fuel shortages throughout the South and left stations in the Washington, D.C. area empty.

CNBC reports, DarkSide, the hacker group behind the recent Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack, received a total of $90 million in bitcoin ransom payments before shutting down last week, according to new research.

I see an update on this

From #Colonial Pipeline just now, #OOTT "Colonial is currently experiencing network issues impacting customers' ability to enter and update nominations. Our internal IT department is aware of the situation and working diligently to restore service".
