Video Ted Cruz Jack Dorsey Grills Twitter CEO

In a recent video, Ted Cruz is seen slamming Jack Dorsey for censoring The Post’s Hunter Biden reporting. “Mr. Dorsey, who the hell elected you and put you in charge of what the media are allowed to report, and what the American people are allowed to hear?” said the Texas Republican at the social-media mogul. “Why do you persist in behaving as a Democratic super PAC, silencing views to the contrary of your political beliefs?” Ted Cruz’s grilling of the Twitter CEO was backed by many who opposed the censorship.

“Why did Twitter make the decision to censor the New York Post?” he inquired.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tried to reason his censorship. He emphasized that Twitter maintains a hacked materials policy. This policy restricts the spread and distribution of material that is alleged to be hacked. He further said that he does not want Twitter to act as an accomplice in distributing hacked content. “We found that the New York Post, because it showed the direct materials … [and] it was unclear how those were obtained, that it fell under this policy” he added.

However, Ted Cruz responded by pointing out that The Post had clearly specified in its reporting that the thread of emails and other personal details in the report were derived from a laptop that previously belonged to Biden. The laptop was abandoned by Biden at a Delaware electronics repair shop. The laptop then became the owner’s property as per the store policy. The Post also mentioned that Biden had agreed to this policy in writing.

“They weren’t hiding what they claimed to be the source,” Cruz maintained. “Is it your position that Twitter, when you can’t tell the source, blocks press stories?” Jack Dorsey replied by saying, “No, not at all. Our team made a fast decision.” Jack Dorsey further reiterated that the policy had been amended following this incident to avoid any future complications of this nature.

Censorship

When Jack Dorsey maintained that the policy had been amended, Ted Cruz responded by asking why The Post was still banned from Twitter. “They have to log into their account, which they can do at this minute, delete the original tweet, which fell under our original enforcement actions, and they can tweet the exact same material, the exact same article and it would go through,” Dorsey emphasized.

Ted Cruz further said, “Let’s be clear: The New York Post isn’t just some random guy tweeting. The New York Post has the fourth-highest circulation of any newspaper in America. The New York Post is 200-years-old. The New York Post was founded by Alexander Hamilton, and your position is that you can sit in Silicon Valley and that you can tell them what stories they can publish, and you can tell the American people what reporting they can hear, is that right?”

After this dialogue made rounds on social media, the following news came about, JUST IN: Twitter CEO @jack states that Biden corruption tweets will be removed for “misinformation”—adding Holocaust denial is considered “misleading information” & will be PROTECTED by Twitter.
