Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra To Get S Pen

Galaxy S21 S Pen

Surely, you’ll agree with us that the Galaxy Note series, first released in 2011 by Samsung, has made a lot of impact in the smartphone industry. Not long ago, Samsung was able to launch the Galaxy Note 20 series, which includes the standard Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. Interestingly, the devices come with a lot of great features. Unfortunately, a new report reveals that the series could be the very last Note smartphones that we’ll be seeing from the South Korean OEM. In a way to replace it, Samsung will now be offering an S Pen, alongside its next top-of-the-line Galaxy S device, the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Samsung Likely To Introduce Galaxy S21 with An S Pen, Killing The Galaxy Note Series

Initially, going by the latest convention adopted by Samsung, we believed the company’s next flagship should go by the name Galaxy S30. However, according to the latest report by the Korean publication The Elec, that might not be the case. The new report emphasizes on Galaxy S21, hinting that Samsung might likely adopt the name for its next year’s flagships. That aside, the shocking part of the report is that the South Korean giant tech company might not release any Galaxy Note series next year.

According to the report, the reason for that is because Samsung will now be introducing an S Pen on one of the Galaxy S21/S30 devices. And if that’s anything to go by, it’ll surely narrow the distinction between the two series. That’s because the S-Pen is the main feature that differentiates both of them. Apart from that, another reason is that the company hasn’t yet said anything regarding whether or not it’ll release the Galaxy Note 21 series in the second half of next year. Also, the report says that Samsung will shift its focus to the Fold series with S Pen, in the second half of 2021.

Furthermore, the report claims that the code name of the Galaxy S21 is “Unbound”, and it’ll come in three variants. It also reveals that the models have project names, M1, N2, and O3. As for the O3, it is the top model of the Galaxy S21, which will come with the S Pen.

2021 Flagship Will Launch Without A 3D Time of Flight (ToF) Module

Recall that Samsung was able to make the ToF feature available on the Galaxy S20 Plus and Galaxy S20 Ultra. However, according to the report, The Elec revealed that the 2021 flagships, Galaxy S21/30 might not come with a 3D Time of Flight.

On the other hand, in 2018, The Bell, a Korean publication mentioned something related to merging the S and Note series together. Also, the popular phone leaker Evan Blass was able to tweet something relating to that in September 2019. For now, it’ll still take around a year before seeing a new Note series – if at all we’ll be seeing it. As for the Galaxy S21/30 series, we expect that to come in the next seven months or so. With that, it means it’s still early to confirm the authenticity of the information.

So, we’ll advise that you take the information with a pinch of salt, while we await the launch of the Galaxy S21 / 30 series, rumored to be coming with the S Pen.
