Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said Monday the country still aims to join the European Union but ruled out talks with the opposition after his decision to shelve membership talks until 2028 prompted mass protests.
“I want to convince everyone that European integration is not postponed but will be pursued with maximum efforts,” Kobakhidze said at a press conference after four straight days of pro-EU protests. He insisted he would hold “no negotiations” with the opposition.
