Germany saw its hottest day since records began on Friday with a preliminary measurement of 41.3C, recorded in the western city of Saarbruecken, the German Weather Service (DWD) told AFP.
The DWD cautioned that the data could be revised down after quality control checks are carried out, but if the figure stands, it will beat the previous record of 41.2C set in July 2019.
