Elon Musk to WaPo ‘Give my regards to your puppet master’ Jeff Bezos

Elon Musk Puppet Master

Elon Musk struck again at one of his main rivals, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, calling him puppet master.

‘Give my regards to your puppet master’ – Musk vs Bezos duel takes new turn

Washington Post contacted the Tesla CEO over a story written about him. Musk responded to the newspaper’s request for its story “Elon Musk Moved to Texas and embraced celebrity. Can Tesla Run on Autopilot?” and commented, “Give my regards to your puppet master.”

The comment apparently referred to Jeff Bezos, owner of The Post, who bought the paper in 2013 for $250 million.

The two tech giants have been in a long feud that that started over their competing outer-space ambitions. Musk owns SpaceX and Bezos owns the company Blue Origin.

Both Bezos and The Post have repeatedly claimed his noninfluence on editorial decisions. But critics have often slammed the two, the most vocal among them former President Donald Trump. Trump criticized Bezos and The Post from time to time, tweeting that the paper spread “fake news” and served as Amazon’s “chief strategist.”

World’s richest man title

The two billionaires have also run for the world’s richest man title with Bezos overtaking Musk again last week.

Musk has been criticizing Bezos and his rocket company in the past. He has called Bezos a copycat for some of his businesses and termed Amazon a monopoly. Whereas, Bezos has often mocked Musk’s plans to send people to Mars, describing the idea as ‘unmotivating’.

“My friends who want to move to Mars, I say, do me a favor and go live on the top of Mount Everest for a year first, and see if you like it because it’s a garden paradise compared to Mars,” Bezos had told SpaceNews in 2019.

The Washington Post published a report Tuesday on Tesla’s “questionable business moves” and claimed critics have said his personal schedule and “seeming cult of personality that has developed around him, are beginning to show in the car company he runs.” The Post author said the story was based on interviews with a dozen current and former Tesla employees, investors, and analysts.

With this latest jibe to call Bezos a puppet master, Elon Musk is further inciting a feud with Bezos that dates back to at least 2004.

On a whim, he moved to China, and in his first week following a triumphant pub quiz victory, he found himself bleeding on the floor based on his arrogance. The same man who put him there offered him a job lecturing for the University of Wales in various sister universities throughout the Middle Kingdom. While primarily lecturing in descriptive and comparative statistics, Brendan simultaneously earned an Msc in Banking and International Finance from the University of Wales-Bangor.
