Gmail iOS 15 Stuttering Issue While Scrolling

Gmail, first released in 2004 by Google, is an ad-supported webmail service. According to Findstack, Gmail has over 1.8 billion active users across the world. As such, it is the most popular email service globally. Many people love to use Gmail because it’s very much accessible on several internet-enabled devices. As popular as Gmail is, however, it also has its problems. According to the latest reports, some iOS 15 users now complain of an annoying stuttering issue, which happens while scrolling on their Gmail app.

iOS 15 users report a stuttering issue that occurs while scrolling on the Gmail

As earlier mentioned, the Gmail app is available on almost all major devices, including PC, Android, and iOS. According to the latest reports, it seems many iOS 15 users now experience a stuttering issue while scrolling through emails on their Gmail app. Instead of having a smooth scrolling experience, the affected users mentioned they encounter small lags while scrolling to check their emails.

Apart from the stuttering issue, many users also mentioned that they experience another issue, in which the Gmail app interface is slow to respond to touch. You can check here (1,2,3) to see exactly what the affected iOS 15 users are saying about the issue.

Causes of the Gmail iOS 15 stuttering issue

The exact cause of the stuttering issue on the iOS 15 Gmail app is still unclear. However, many users mentioned that the issue is not new and has been around since the iOS 15 beta stages. Since the problem now affects the stable iOS 15, it’s safe to say that the issue is from Google.

The Gmail team is already aware of this issue, according to this post. It’s been months since this post surfaced but Google hasn’t still released any fix. We’ll keep our eyes on Google and continue to update this post as soon as relevant updates surface.
