The price of gold reached a new record on Thursday, driven by uncertainty surrounding US President Donald Trump’s economic policies and a weaker dollar following a disappointing US growth report.

At around 15:25 GMT, gold was trading at $2,789.94 per ounce, according to BullionVault, shortly after briefly surpassing $2,791 and breaking its previous record of $2,790.10 set in late October.
