Fresh GTA 6 gameplay footage and an alleged full map have surfaced online, giving fans an unofficial look at Rockstar Games’ upcoming open-world title just days before its next major presentation.
The gameplay footage appears to show co-protagonist Jason Duval at a waterfront property before he walks over to a basketball hoop and starts shooting. The same basketball setup appears similar to one previously shown in official GTA 6 imagery, which has added to speculation surrounding the clip’s authenticity.

The short video also appears to reveal parts of the game’s user interface. Viewers can see what looks like a stamina meter and a currency counter while Jason moves around the property.
However, the footage remains unverified. 9to5Toys notes that it could be an early development build, modified Rockstar footage or something created using AI. The clip has been linked to a group calling itself Cyberleek, although it remains unclear how the material was obtained.

Alleged full GTA 6 map offers a wider look at Leonida
Separately, an image claiming to show the full GTA 6 map has started circulating online. GameRant has also highlighted the alleged map leak as attention around the game builds ahead of Rockstar’s next presentation.
Unlike the short gameplay footage involving Jason, the map image appears to offer a much wider view of Leonida. That makes it potentially more revealing, since players have so far had to piece together the shape of the game world using trailers, screenshots and older leaked material.
The circulating image appears to place Jason’s home in the southern island region while showing a much larger landmass stretching beyond the immediate Vice City area. Various icons and markers can also be seen across the map. If authentic, those markers could represent shops, activities, points of interest or other locations players can visit. However, their exact purpose remains unknown.
What makes the image particularly interesting is how it compares with locations Rockstar has already revealed. Official material has confirmed that GTA 6 will extend far beyond Vice City, with areas including the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park. Those environments range from dense urban streets and coastal islands to wetlands, smaller towns and wilderness areas.
That variety has already led fans to expect a world considerably more diverse than GTA 5’s Los Santos and Blaine County. Community mapping projects have spent years estimating the positions of roads, bridges and landmarks using footage and coordinates from previous leaks. One fan-made interactive project now contains more than 1,600 estimated markers, although its creators acknowledge that many placements remain speculative.
The newly leaked image could therefore give fans another reference point when estimating Leonida’s overall shape and scale. Still, it should not be confused with an official Rockstar map. The studio has not authenticated the image, and parts of the game world could differ when GTA 6 launches.

Rockstar has not confirmed whether the footage or map images are legitimate, but the studio has reportedly begun issuing DMCA takedowns against the leaks, suggesting they may be authentic.
Official GTA 6 reveal arrives August 27
The leaks have arrived at an interesting time. Rockstar has already confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix on August 27.
That presentation should finally provide a reliable comparison for some of the gameplay details now circulating online.
GTA 6 is officially scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
