According to multiple Hogwarts Legacy players, the biscuit cage bug is preventing them from completing the quest as the cage isn’t opening.
Reports of Hogwarts Legacy biscuit cage bug
Before starting the Biscuit quest, it appears that the problem was caused by raiding the area and unlocking the lock. Some players are displeased with this bug, and they have expressed their annoyance online.
As per reports, the bug has been discussed in relation to the severity of the issue on different social media platforms.
“Have not been able to unlock the cage to Rescue Biscuit. It’s honestly really infuriating that this bug seems to be pretty common and nothing has been done to fix it,” one person reported.
Another said: “Just like biscuits never leaving that cage.”
“When are you fixing the rescue biscuit bug? It’s the last mission I have left to complete in the game,” an affected player posted.
Although the bug can be prevented by staying away from looting the area, it cannot be resolved once it has already occurred, preventing players from completing the quest.
Others, however, have claimed that they too experienced the bug despite not looting the area prior to beginning the quest.
Official acknowledgment by game developers
Thankfully the game’s publisher has acknowledged the bug and also replied to players’ reports. They are encouraging players to send their issues for investigation.
The problem is being looked into by Warner Bros. Games Support, and a resolution should be available soon. There is no ETA for the fix, though.

Players have expressed frustration over it because they need to finish the quest in order to advance in the game.
Additionally, the Take the Biscuit quest is an additional side mission that must be finished by players who want to finish the whole game.
Here’s how players can avoid it: “If you unlock the cage prior to starting the quest you can’t open the cage during the quest and therefore can’t free Biscuit,” a Redditor suggested.
We are expecting the quick release of a patch by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to address the “Take the Biscuit” bug.
