Hundreds of graves are located in forests outside the recaptured Ukrainian city of Izyum, AFP journalists on the scene said Friday, after Kyiv officials announced the discovery of mass burial sites.
Graves topped with white crosses and marked with numbers were dotted between trees outside the eastern city, the journalists said, with one inscription reading: “Ukrainian army, 17 people. Izyum morgue.”
