Elon Musk announces plan to protect and connect Amazon

Billionaire Elon Musk, on a visit to Brazil Friday, announced a project to bring internet access to schools in the Amazon and improve satellite monitoring of the rainforest.

“Super excited to be in Brazil for launch of Starlink for 19,000 unconnected schools in rural areas & environmental monitoring of Amazon!” tweeted Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla ahead of a meeting with President Jair Bolsonaro.
