I’m sure you’re aware that HMD has recently been rolling out the Android 10 update to Nokia’s eligible devices. While some devices are already done receiving the update, and others are either receiving it presently or waiting for their turn. Well, there’s good news for all Nokia 5.1 Plus users as HMD global just released a post on its Community forum, stating that Android 10 update has started rolling out in waves.
In this article, we’ll be exploring everything about the Android 10 update rolling out to the Nokia 5.1 Plus users. Also, in case you’re not interested in waiting for OTA, I’ll be showing you the download link for manual installation.
First Wave Of Android 10 Update Rolls Out To Nokia 5.1 Plus Users
Recall that in April, there were Android 10 internal beta leaks for both Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 5.1 Plus. Shortly after, a video showing Nokia 5.1 Plus devices running on the Android 10 beta was also released. After a month of delaying the update from officially rolling out – as a result of Wi-Fi Bug – Nokia has finally started pushing it out for its Nokia 5.1 Plus devices.
In a post published yesterday on Nokia Community, the first wave of Android 10 updates will be rolling out to Nokia 5.1 Plus users in 34 different countries. They include Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Cambodia, Denmark, Finland, Georgia, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Luxembourg, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
Here’s a brief of what the post says:
“10% of all these approved markets will receive the Update today. 50% by May 22nd and on May 24th 100% of these approved markets will have received Android 10.”
By May 24, we should expect that the Android 10 update will reach out to the Nokia 5.1 Plus users in all the countries included in the first wave. As soon as the second wave of the update starts rolling out, we’ll let you know about it.
