Data compiled by the Institute for Family Studies reveals that the number of unmarried men in the United States is rapidly surging. Approximately 30.4 million men between the ages of 20 and 39 are unmarried. This marks a stark 47% increase since 2000. These numbers portray a massive cultural and economic transformation in modern relationship history.
The report further states that 68% of unmarried young men want to get married. However, despite the desire to find a partner, 59% of these young men are completely single. These men admitted that the fear of rejection prevents them from asking someone out.
Why is the number of unmarried men surging?
The economic reality of the 21st century has made marriage economically difficult. Only well-settled men consider marriage, which means having one’s own house and a stable income. Rent inflation, housing costs and the rising cost of living have made this difficult to achieve. Several young people are opting to live with their parents to save money.
Paired with employment insecurity, men do not consider themselves to be financially ready to take on responsibilities arising from marriage. People also argue that in the age of social media, marriages have turned into a luxury trophy that one can only unlock with an expensive ring, extravagant ceremonies, and lavish travel plans.
In past decades, it was common for young people to move out of their parents’ house at 18. However, this pattern has considerably changed in recent years. According to the US Census Bureau, most young adults live with roommates while working jobs.

Why are women choosing not to marry anymore?
The rising number of unmarried men is also caused by women re-evaluating what marriage offers them. Access to higher education and job opportunities has ensured that women no longer rely on men for financial survival. Therefore, now marriage is viewed through the lens of emotional enrichment and companionship. This automatically translates to higher standards.
Social analysts note that women now outpace men in terms of finances and education. This inevitably means that the dating pool for women has shrunk considerably, as they strive to marry someone who matches their caliber.
Traditionally, women’s roles were confined to producing children and managing the household. Now, with access to equal opportunities, women have developed their intellect and therefore, the standards have also increased. Women no longer look solely for financial stability. They now look for emotional intelligence, communication skills and intellectual depth.
Young Americans have now replaced the traditional nuclear family structure with platonic networks and the concept of “found families”. Many young adults now prefer commitment-free dynamics such as situation-ships as opposed to the permanence that traditional marriage brings.

The one simple reason. Women in the US have become materialistic and toxic. Good men won’t sign up for a life with a woman like that. Also, the left has worked to create a LGBTQ society so that nobody knows who anyone really is and largely the American white woman has bought into the bs.
