Canada’s province of Ontario will suspend a 25 percent electricity surcharge on three American states, Premier Doug Ford said Tuesday, after “productive” talks with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

Ford and Lutnick will meet in Washington on Thursday with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer “to discuss a renewed USMCA ahead of the April 2 reciprocal tariff deadline,” Ford added on social media, referring to the North American trade pact.
