Poco X2 Android 11 update release date: When to expect it

Poco X2 Android 11 Update Release Date

Poco X2, released on February 11, 2020, is arguably one of the best smartphones from Xiaomi. The phone brings a host of amazing features and sells at an affordable price. First, the Poco X2 model came, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G. Apart from that, the device also arrived, running Android 10 with MIUI 11.0.3 out of the box. In February, Poco India General Manager, C Manmohan took to his Twitter account to confirm that Poco X2 will receive the Android 11 – only the first developer preview of the update was available at that time. Similarly, Xiaomi made an official announcement in June that Android 11 for the Poco X2 model will “come soon”. However, the company didn’t mention how soon the release date of the update will be.

No Release Date Yet: The Wait For Poco X2 Android 11 Update Is Still On

Now, it’s about 3 months since the company made the announcement regarding the Android 11 update for the Poco X2 model. However, we are still yet to receive the operating system.

In September, there was a post that suggested that the Android 11 based MIUI 12 update for Chinese Poco X2/Xiaomi Redmi K30 was already receiving internal testing. Besides that, there’s yet to be any other clue regarding how far the company has gone into developing the operating system for Poco X2.

Google released the stable version of the Android 11 operating system last month. And so far, a few OEMs have started rolling out the update to their eligible devices. Even Xiaomi has also started pushing out the update to some of its devices. Xiaomi smartphones like the Mi 10 and Redmi K30 Pro, which is globally recognized as Poco F2 Pro, have recently received the Android 11 update in China.

Poco X2 Beta Recruitment Could Start Soon

In July, the company made a similar announcement for the Poco F2 Pro as it did for the Poco X2. Globally, however, the Poco F2 Pro variant is yet to receive the Android 11 beta update. However, the Chinese variant has bagged the stable version of the Android 11 update. Furthermore, the global Mi 10 Pro variant has also been able to pick up the Android 11 beta update.

Looking at that, we are hopeful that Xiaomi will soon start rolling out the beta version of the update for the Poco F2 Pro model. As for the Poco X2 model, Xiaomi hasn’t yet said anything regarding the release date of the Android 11 update. However, we’re also hopeful that the Chinese OEM will soon begin its beta recruitment.

We’ll keep an eye on Xiaomi for any update regarding the release date of Android 11 for Poco X2. As soon as we find anything worth sharing, we’ll let you know about it here.
