Alabama police plead for tips in deadly birthday party shooting

Reports of active shooter on James Island in Charleston County South Carolina. Law Enforcement is asking residents of James Island’s Clearview subdivision to shelter in place.

On Wednesday morning, residents of James Island’s Clearview subdivision are being asked to shelter in place.

Charleston County Sheriff’s Office tweeted:

“Deputies are on scene of a barricaded subject at 756 Brown Drive, James Island. SWAT team en route. The public is cautioned to avoid the area. Nearby residents should stay inside their residences for their safety. We will provide more updates as they become available.”

Around 9:40 a.m., town officials stated that the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office was requesting that those living near Brown Drive follow this advice.

At this time, it is unknown what prompted the request for shelter in place.
