A Reddit user who appeared to predict the date of a major Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) leak weeks in advance says an alleged Rockstar Games’ representative later arrived at his home, adding another strange chapter to the ongoing Cyberleek saga.
The user, known as PilotX1970, reportedly posted in the GTA6unmoderated subreddit roughly a month before the leak, writing that something would happen on August 18 and telling skeptical readers to return on that date. When August 18 arrived, an unknown individual or group using the name Cyberleek began publishing alleged GTA VI material, including gameplay clips, map information and details involving non-player characters.
The timing quickly drew attention back to PilotX1970’s earlier post. Asked on Reddit how he knew the date, the user replied that it was more about “who you know” and later described the connection as a “friend of friend,” according to GamingBible. Al Bawaba similarly reported that PilotX1970 said Cyberleek was connected through a friend of a friend.
Alleged Rockstar representative visits Reddit user
The story escalated on August 24 when footage circulated showing a man at PilotX1970’s door. The Reddit post describing the encounter said the visitor claimed to represent Rockstar, while Al Bawaba reported that the man identified himself as “David” and was there to investigate whether the Reddit user had any connection to Cyberleek. GamingBible described the visitor as a lawyer representing Rockstar Games.
However, the authenticity of the encounter remains uncertain. PilotX1970 has since said the August 18 prediction was a “lucky guess,” according to the Reddit post. Commenters on the subreddit were also openly skeptical, with several suggesting the doorstep video could have been staged. GamingBible noted separate claims accusing PilotX1970 of faking videos to promote meme coins, while stressing that the situation is difficult to verify.
Questions remain over Cyberleek connection
Cyberleek, meanwhile, has continued releasing alleged GTA 6 material since August 18. Al Bawaba reported that the account has also promoted a cryptocurrency, drawing criticism online. GamingBible said the leaks have included short gameplay footage and a look at the game’s map, and reported claims that Cyberleek may possess access to a full build of the game.
For now, the most intriguing part of the episode remains PilotX1970’s unusually accurate date prediction. Whether it reflected genuine inside knowledge, a loose connection to Cyberleek or simply an improbable guess has not been established. The doorstep video has only intensified speculation, but the available accounts make clear that key parts of the story remain unverified.
