UPDATE 2:15 PM ET: Shelter in place at Rider University in New Jersey has been lifted with no remaining active threat, according to campus alert.

UPDATE 2:08 pm ET: Rider University says there is no confirmed active shooter at this time on the campus. However, authorities are asking students and staff to continue to shelter in place.

Potential ‘active shooter threat’ reported at Rider University in Lawrence Township, New Jersey on Monday.

Students are said to be sheltering in place.

Several law enforcement agencies are responding to reports of an active shooter at Rider University, according to Fox3now.

According to University alert:

Attention Rider campus community: Please take immediate action to shelter in place until further notice due to a threat that has been made to campus. We urge everyone to stay inside or seek shelter indoors, and to stay away from doors and windows. Public Safety and Lawrence PD are currently investigating the threat, which is potentially related to an active shooter situation. This is not a drill, and we ask that you remain in place until further notice. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

According to university alerts sent around 1:15 p.m., everyone on campus is being asked to stay or get inside and away from windows.

As of the publication of this report, no victims had been confirmed or identified.

Police ask that the public stay away from the area.
