The Russian defence ministry on Wednesday denied hitting the Ukrainian capital on Tuesday and said all strikes reached their intended targets.

“All the destruction shown by the Kyiv regime in residential areas of the Ukrainian capital is a direct consequence of the fall and self-destruction of anti-aircraft missiles fired by Ukrainian troops,” the Russian defence ministry said in a briefing.

It said it carried out strikes on “Ukrainian military command and related Ukrainian energy facilities… all missiles hit exactly the designated targets.”
