Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas is currently under police investigation following reports of a shooting there on Wednesday morning.
Active shooter at Timberview High School
According to reports, a school shooting occurred at a high school in North Texas. Police is responding to the active shooter situation in Arlington.
A person armed with a weapon is believed to have been on the Timberview High School campus, located in the 7000 block of South Watson Road in Arlington. Mansfield Independent School District operates the school.
The shooting occurred during a fight in a classroom, according to Arlington Assistant Police Chief Kevin Kolbye.
Mansfield ISD said, the school was placed on lockdown while the situation was investigated.
In a press release, the Mansfield Independent School District confirmed the shooting, saying: “Mansfield ISD police, Arlington police and other neighboring law enforcement agencies are investigating an active shooter situation at Timberview High School.”
Parents are asked to gather at the student nutrition centre, located at 151 Mansfield Webb Road. After that, the district will work to transport students from the high school to this location.

UPDATE 11:50 AM EST: Arlington Police confirm that at least three people were shot at Mansfield Timberview High School and were transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. According to students who posted on social media, a student argued with a teacher before opening fire on the teacher and other students.
UPDATE 12:06: The unknown suspect of Timberview High School shooting in Arlington, Texas has fled the scene. Police are looking for the alleged shooter.
UPDATE 12:26 EST: Police say four people were injured in a shooting at Timberview High School, three of whom were hospitalised; the search for the shooter continues.
UPDATE 12:40 EST: Timothy George Simpkins, 18, has been identified as a suspect, and he may be driving a silver 2018 Dodge Charger with Texas licence plate PFY-6260, according to police. According to authorities, he is armed and dangerous, and anyone who encounters him should call 911.
