MICHIGAN – An incident of shooting at Briarwood Mall is currently being investigated by members of the Ann Arbor Police Department.
Police have asked people to avoid the area. However, the mall has not been put on lockdown.
According to police, one person was shot inside Von Muar. His injuries were not life-threatening. The shooting victim has been taken to University of Michigan hospital where he is listed in stable condition, police said.
Police said it is not an active shooter situation and also does not seem to be a random shooting, residents are advised to stay away from the area while police investigate.
Ann Arbor police tweeted, “Officers are investigating a report of shots fired at @Briarwood mall. At this time there IS NOT an active shooter and we ask people to avoid the area of the mall while the investigation is in progress.”
As of 4 p.m. Friday, police were still on the scene and advising people to avoid the area until the situation is resolved.
