Watch SpaceX Crew Dragon Launch Live Stream Here

Ever since the retirement of the space shuttle in July 2011, we have not had the chance to watch the live stream, where astronauts launch to orbit from a facility in the US. However, NASA has plans to send two of its astronauts to the International Space Station today. Unlike in the past where NASA was in charge, the SpaceX Crew Dragon will launch this one.

In this article, we’ll be exploring everything about the SpaceX Crew Dragon historical launch, coming up later today.

Apart from that, you’ll also be able to watch the live stream here, and some other platforms which we’ll list out for you later.

SpaceX Crew Dragon Prepares To Launch Two Astronauts To Orbit

If all things work out as planned, today’s event will be a historical one for SpaceX, as it’s Crew Dragon will launch two astronauts, Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley to space.

But here’s a burning question, will the weather be favorable today?

According to yesterday’s weather forecast from the Department of Defense’s 45th Squadron, there’s a higher chance that the weather will be favorable today. There’s a prediction that after 4 pm today, the rain has a 90% chance of falling with a possibility of strong wind in the area. However, squadron further added that the weather has to be good in two areas since people are flying to space today.

The two areas include the launch site, and in the long swath of the ocean, across the North Atlantic near Ireland, where the astronauts might descend in case of emergency.

When Will The Astronauts Land At The International Space Station?

The mission, called demo-2 will see SpaceX crew dragon launch both Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley to orbit today. Although this isn’t the first time both of them are traveling to space, it’s actually the first time the two NASA astronauts are working together. According to plans, the liftoff is set today for 4:33 pm, EDT (20:33 GMT), from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Shortly after the launch, the SpaceX Crew Dragon is expected to spend 19 hours, before arriving in orbit. That’ll be shortly before noon Eastern time on Thursday. Also, you’ll be able to watch the live stream of the event live.
