President Donald Trump on Monday urged tech giant Google to rethink plans for a huge AI investment in Finland, as he pushed back against calls for greater regulation of the technology in the United States.

“Google has recently stated that they want to build a massive Plant in Finland, all because they are finding permitting too difficult in the United States. I am not happy about this, and want them to change their thinking,” Trump said on social media.

Google announced last week that it would invest at least $15 billion in data centers and other digital infrastructure to power its AI ambitions in Finland, in what the US tech giant called its biggest single investment in Europe.
