Donald Trump on Thursday told visiting Chancellor Friedrich Merz that he welcomed Germany increasing its defense budget, as the US president pushes Europe to cover more of its security needs.
“I know that you are spending more money on defense now, quite a bit more money, and that’s a positive thing,” Trump told Merz at the White House.
