Twitch users can’t change their profile banner or profile picture: reports

Amazon's streaming platform Twitch cuts 500 jobs: company

Multiple Twitch users reported that they can’t change their profile picture or profile banner.

Twitch is among the most popular streaming services in the world. It allows users to watch videos about vlogging, baking, producing music, singing, and a lot more.

It also allows many people to earn a lot of money depending on their popularity. This is where the streamer’s profile picture plays a role because it is important in attracting potential audiences’ attention to their content.

Reports of Twitch users who can’t change their profile banner or profile picture

There appears to be a glitch that prevents users from altering their profile images and banners. Many have taken to Twitter to report the issue preventing them from having a good experience with the service.

“Hey @TwitchSupport is updating profiles (profile picture and banners) broken? I can’t seem to upload any new pictures,” a user posted.

“@Twitch I cannot upload a profile photo. Doesn’t matter if I try to load the previous photo I had it still will not load. Keeps giving me an error,” another user reported.

Customers are irritated because they can readily post photographs to other websites. Twitch, on the other hand, does not support that feature even when the file is supported and under the recommended size.

In fact, it displays errors such as ‘Could not update the profile photo, please try again later’ or ‘UPLOAD TIMED-OUT’.

Many resorted to using incognito mode and clearing the cache, but it didn’t work. “@TwitchSupport unable to update profile picture. Tried incognito, clearing cache and cookies, and different browsers. Apparently, multiple users are going through this as well. No troubleshooting is working and the picture is the correct size,” an affected user tweeted.

Official Acknowledgment

However, Twitch support has noted the problem with uploading or updating profile images and stated that the team is working on a fix.

There is no remedy that can help consumers temporarily manage the problem. There is also no timetable for the repair. Looks like users will have to wait for the fix to be able to make the most of the streaming service.
