Twitch users report ‘Something went wrong’ login error

Amazon's streaming platform Twitch cuts 500 jobs: company

Multiple Twitch users are experiencing issues with logging into their accounts and getting the ‘Something went wrong’ error.

Twitch is a live streaming platform popular for gaming. Players can comment on their preferred game titles while streaming to other followers worldwide.

Social media reports of Twitch users getting ‘Something went wrong’ error

Twitch users are unable to access their accounts from specific browsers. There have been multiple proofs on Twitter and Reddit of the persisting issue.

“@TwitchSupport I can’t log in, I just get “error occurred, try again”. I’ve tried it on multiple browsers. Can’t sign up for a new account either. I get the same error message,” a player posted.

Many users are experiencing login issues on the Opera GX browser.

“About 10 minutes ago, I was trying to add and edit scheduled streams, when the whole process started staying stuck in buffering. I tried logging out and back in, thinking that would fix it, and now after two password changes, I still can’t log back in, I’m using Opera GX,” a user posted.

However, some affected users have tried to update the browser and clear all cookies but it has not worked for them. They even tried to disable extensions from their browser or change passwords but it didn’t resolve the issue for them.

Twitch’s acknowledgement and potential workaround

The Twitch support team was quick to acknowledge the issue where users are unable to log in. The company is working to resolve the issue but didn’t provide an ETA yet.

Meanwhile, here are some possible workarounds that were suggested by some users. The players can try to access their Twitch accounts via Microsoft Edge and open them in an incognito tab.

“Hey @TwitchSupport I can’t log into my account even after a password change on my browser but if I go incognito I can log in just fine what do I do in order to log into my reg browser?” a user posted.

If you are experiencing the issue on PC, try opening the account on mobile as many users are able to access their accounts through the Twitch mobile app.
