Twitter restricts Russia vaccine ‘Sputnik V’ account [UPDATED]

Twitter Sputnik V restricted

Twitter account for Russia’s “Sputnik V” COVID-19 vaccine, @sputnikvaccine, has been restricted due to “unusual activity.”

“Caution: This account is temporarily restricted…because there has been some unusual activity,” a statement on the Twitter account for the Sputnik V vaccine showed, though it still permitted users to click through and access the page.

Spokespeople for the Russian Direct Investment Fund, which runs the account, told that they are still finding out out the reason for the restriction set by Twitter.

However, the account’s tweets are temporarily limited, which does not mean that it has been blocked. Unlike US President Donald Trump’s account, you can still access tweets from @sputnikvaccine by clicking “Yes, view profile”.

UPDATE: That was brief, the account of ‘Sputnik V’ coronavirus vaccine has been restored by Twitter.
