Britain’s new Prime Minister Andy Burnham underlined his “commitment to defence and security” in his first phone call with US President Donald Trump on Monday, his spokesperson said.
Burnham “said ensuring the security of the UK and its Allies was at the top of his agenda”, 10 Downing Street said, adding the new prime minister invited Trump to visit his political home, the northern city of Manchester, “in the future”.
