Around 300 South Koreans were detained during a major raid by US immigration authorities on a Hyundai and LG battery plant in the state of Georgia, a source said Friday on condition of anonymity.

US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained as many as 450 workers at the EV battery plant construction site, the Yonhap news agency reported, and among them were “around 300 South Koreans”, said the source who was not authorised to speak publicly.
