According to multiple reports, the YouTube Live Chat mode is not working for ios users.

YouTube’s live streaming feature enables you to watch videos as they are being recorded in real time. When you watch a live stream, the video begins playing as soon as it is recorded and does not buffer like regular videos.

The live streaming tool that allows creators to interact with their audiences in through video and chat. It functions similarly to a typical chatroom, but with the added benefit of being able to chat with other viewers and send emojis in real time. One of the best aspects of live streaming chat is the ease with which you can connect with people from all over the world.

Reports of YouTube Live Chat mode not working for iOS users

A lot of people are having trouble switching the comments view from ‘Top Chat’ mode to ‘Live Chat’ mode while broadcasting live on the platform.

When you click the control button, there appears to be no option to change. Some also claim that after touching on the button, they only see a small triangle below it.

Affected users took to social media to express their concerns about the bug and have also asked the developers to help them fix it.

The bug recently appeared and stirred controversy among YouTube creators, particularly because it makes it challenging for them to connect with their viewers while streaming.

Others have tried logging out and back in to their YouTube account, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the app on their devices, but this does not appear to help resolve the issue.

“@TeamYouTube what happened to switching from Top Chat to Live Chat while watching Live @YouTube streams?” reported one user.

Another reported: “I’ve done the things listed above signed in and out my account and reinstalled the app on my devices but I still can’t get the Live chat feature to work.”

Official acknowledgment but no workaround

Moreover, YouTube has formally recognized and acknowledged the problem and is looking into it. However, no official timeframe has been provided.

There are also no workarounds at the moment.
