Reports of YouTube videos not uploading, showing ‘processing will begin shortly’ error

At present, certain users of YouTube are encountering difficulties while attempting to upload videos to the platform. It seems that the video-sharing service is unable to process their videos because of an outage.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the initial occurrence of users encountering uploading problems on the platform. Previously, users have reported an issue where videos were stuck during copyright checks.

Currently, content creators are experiencing a lot of issues as their videos got delayed.

One person tweeted: “Seems YouTube’s processing is down, all uploads are stuck on ‘processing will begin shortly’. Been like that for an hour now, so apologies but the lunchtime video will be delayed until it’s sorted.”

“I have been trying to upload a video to YouTube for quite some time but the video gets stuck on processing,” a user said.

“Unable to post my video from the past 1 hour as the processing is not starting,” another said.

Due to this issue, the video’s visibility status is currently stuck on ‘Pending’. Those affected have turned to social media platforms, such as Twitter, to express their annoyance. Those with a set upload schedule are unable to deliver content to their viewers because of the ongoing outage.

The issue isn’t restricted to regular videos alone; some creators are encountering the same problems while uploading Shorts content.

YouTube’s response + potential workarounds

There are some speculations that YouTube could be dealing with server issues. Fortunately, YouTube’s support team has responded to some content creators in regard to their complaints.

“Thanks for the screenshot! if you haven’t yet, try clearing your cache & cookies + uninstalling & reinstalling the app and making sure your devices and apps are running the latest software versions. more troubleshooting steps here.”

We hope that they are able to discover the root cause of this issue and resolve it promptly so that creators can resume uploading their videos.
