Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky offered Donald Trump’s special envoy Keith Kellogg citizenship on Friday, urging him to spend more time in Kyiv because Russia refrains from attacking the capital when he is in town.
“When Keith Kellogg is in Kyiv, the residents of Kyiv can sleep soundly. Thank you. I would like you to visit all cities in Ukraine,” Zelensky quipped.
“I am ready to grant General Kellogg citizenship. We can give him an apartment — anything he needs, if it will prompt Russia to cease fire,” he added.
He called Kellogg “no worse than the Patriot”, the American air defence missile systems that Kyiv uses to shoot down incoming Russian projectiles.
Russia has stepped up its aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities over recent months even as Washington seeks to halt Moscow’s invasion, which is grinding through its fourth year.
