Taiwan said Tuesday it had detected 130 Chinese military aircraft near the island in a 24-hour period, as China began a second day of live-fire drills.
The self-ruled island’s defence ministry also said it had detected a total of 14 Chinese navy ships and eight unspecified government vessels in the 24 hours ending 6:00 am (2200 GMT on Monday).
