As Ballard Partners has expanded from a Florida-based firm into one with an international presence, it has strengthened its knowledge of issues facing clients in their home regions. Navigating regulatory environments, facilitating connections with key decision-makers, and advocating for unique needs: Ballard Partners’ team of experienced government relations consultants is ready to deliver unsurpassed results.
Among the regions in which the Brian Ballard–founded firm has developed expertise is Latin America. This aptitude can be seen in the Bi-Weekly Latin America Snapshot. Published through the Ballard Global Alliance, the report identifies noteworthy political, economic, and security trends across the region and analyzes their ramifications.
A Look at the Ballard Global Alliance
The Ballard Global Alliance is a pioneering network of public affairs and government relations firms working together to offer superior cross-border advocacy. Launched in 2024 by Ballard Partners, the alliance leverages each firm’s regional expertise to help clients reach their business goals on the global stage.
The alliance currently consists of firms across Europe, East Asia, and North America. Latin America is also well represented in the form of three firms, each of which is based in a key international market.
Who Are the Ballard Global Alliance’s Latin American Members?
In Mexico City, Global Nexus provides advisory services to clients looking to bridge the US and Latin American markets. The firm, which also maintains offices in Washington, DC, will bring to the partnership increased opportunities for Ballard Partners “to deliver enhanced expertise and a broader suite of government affairs capabilities throughout the United States and Latin America,” according to Brian Ballard, the president of Ballard Partners.
In South America, Esfera Brazil has given Ballard Partners access to São Paulo and the larger Brazilian market since joining the Ballard Global Alliance in May of 2025. A think tank and civic organization, Esfera is committed to forging meaningful dialogue between leaders from across the public and private sectors. Through this work, it has developed deep knowledge of key figures and institutions in Brazil.
The first Latin American partner to join the Ballard Global Alliance, Cefeidas Group provides client-centered solutions to organizations operating and investing in Latin America. Since joining the Ballard Global Alliance in October of 2024, the Buenos Aires–based firm has enabled Ballard Partners to enhance its public policy, public affairs, and other services in South America’s Southern Cone.
A Snapshot of the Latin American Region
Global Nexus and Ballard Partners collaborated to create the Bi-Weekly Latin American Snapshot. For its first edition, which was published on December 1, the report analyzed issues affecting Global Nexus’ home country of Mexico while also providing insights into developments in other nations, including those of the Brazil-based Esfera and the Argentina-based Cefeidas Group.
In Mexico, the report detailed President Claudia Sheinbaum’s attempts to calm public unrest following the assassination of a popular mayor in the western state of Michoacan. By deploying troops and providing additional funding to fight poverty, she is hoping to stem the tide and address the root causes of cartel violence.
With Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announcing his candidacy for a fourth nonconsecutive term, the report looked at the evolving possibility of a trade deal between Brazil and the United States. President Lula, who recently negotiated the lifting of a 40 percent tariff on agricultural exports to the United States, has said he plans to personally call President Donald Trump to secure a broader agreement.
Meanwhile, Argentina was discussed in an analysis on the recently announced US trade strategy in the Western Hemisphere. According to the White House, an agreement with Argentina will see the South American country undertake intellectual property reforms. The trade strategy, which also includes deals with El Salvador, Ecuador, and Guatemala, is part of the White House’s strategy to more closely align these countries with US security and economic goals.
The first edition of the Bi-Weekly Latin American Snapshot also covers news and trends in Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, and elsewhere in the region. To read the report in its entirety, visit www.ballardpartners.com.
