Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said Monday the country will implement fuel price caps at midnight local time to counter soaring oil prices triggered by the war in the Middle East.

“We are introducing a protected price for both gasoline and diesel, above which retail prices cannot go” the nationalist leader said in a Facebook video, also citing an escalating row with Ukraine over stalled Russian oil supplies as another reason for the measure.
