President Joe Biden announced on Tuesday that Russia will be barred from flying through US airspace.

The announcement came during Biden’s first State of the Union address, and it followed similar moves by the European Union and Canada.

“Tonight I am announcing that we will join our allies in closing off American airspace to all Russian flights, further isolating Russia and adding an additional squeeze on their economy,” Biden said during his State of the Union 2022 address Tuesday night in Washington, DC.
