Biden not given advance notice of Trump special prosecutor appt: White House

US President Joe Biden was not given advance notice of the Justice Department’s appointment Friday of a special prosecutor to investigate his political rival Donald Trump, the White House said.

“The president was not aware, we were not aware, we were not given advance notice,” of the appointment of Jack Smith to assume control of two investigations of the former US leader, said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
