New limits on undocumented migration into the United States will help “secure” the US-Mexico border, President Joe Biden said Tuesday while introducing measures that temporarily shut the frontier to asylum seekers when crossings surge.
“I’ve come here today to do what the Republicans in Congress refuse to do, take the necessary steps to secure our border,” he said in a brief address at the White House, adding: “Let’s fix the problem and stop fighting about it.”
